Brandon “The Cannon” Adams
There have been hundreds of boxing greats that have inspired young children to be fighters, for Brandon Adams , that fighter was Mike Tyson. At the age of five, Brandon would spend countless hours playing Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out, and listening to stories of how the heavyweight champion would overcome his shorter height and knockout bigger fighters. While it seemed that boxing had an immediate calling for Brandon, he also had a desire to try and become a professional football player. That dream was cut short when Brandon’s high school coaches encouraged him to try another sport as he was “too small for football”. Fortunately for Brandon, boxing came knocking at his door again, and he began training in Los Angeles at the age of 19. Two years later, Brandon found himself having his first professional fight at the Sheraton Hotel in San Diego where he won via decision.
Throughout his professional fighting career, Brandon earned his nickname “Cannon” due to his knockout power. The speed of his hands have caused 15 opponents to hit the mat, allowing Brandon to quickly rise up the ranks in the boxing world. In 2018, Brandon appeared in season 5 of Epix’s “The Contender” television series where he was declared the winner of the show. This allowed him to be in contender status for a championship title. In 2019, Brandon finally got his shot at the WBC middleweight title. Despite losing by decision, he continued to work hard and bounced back to become the NABO champion in 2021.
While “The Cannon” is still fighting to this day, he decided to start a business as part-owner and coach (alongside Coach Kammmm) at Cannonnation Boxing Gym, which launched on October 2022 in Santa Fe Springs, California. As a coach and trainer, Brandon’s biggest desire is to help everyone develop into a better version of themselves through the art of boxing.
